Welcome to Avignon, one of the most beautiful gateways to Provence. Upon arrival at your hotel, you’ll receive your travel documents; It includes detailed route maps, practical information, and everything you need for your bike trip in Provence.
Before you start cycling, take time to explore the UNESCO-listed City of Popes. Walk the medieval ramparts, visit the Palais des Papes, and cross the famous Pont d’Avignon. It’s the perfect warm-up day to soak in the southern atmosphere before a week of cycling filled with culture, nature, and the pleasure of the ride.

Your cycling journey through Provence truly begins this morning. After breakfast, meet our local team at 9:30 a.m. for your bike fitting and a full route briefing.
The day’s cycling stage takes you across the Petite Crau plain. It is a patchwork of fields and cypress trees, along peaceful secondary roads ideal for cyclists who enjoy quiet landscapes. The gradual climb to Les Baux-de-Provence offers a gentle challenge and immense reward with stunning views over the Alpilles. Admire silver olive groves, and lavender fields stretching to the horizon.
A smooth descent leads to Arles, a Roman city of art and history. Park your bike and stroll through the amphitheater, the ancient theater, or relax at a café once frequented by Van Gogh.

Today you deep into one of Europe’s most unique environments, the Camargue, a land of light and wide horizons. This flat stage is a pure pleasure for cyclists who love open spaces and the rhythm of the pedals. Cycle along canals and wetlands home to rare birds, passing Camargue horses and black bulls grazing freely in the marshes.
Around Lake Vaccarès, the landscape invites you to slow down and enjoy the meditative sound of your tires on the road.
Arriving at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is magical. The Mediterranean sparkles ahead, and the scent of the sea accompanies your final miles. Take a deep breath, dip your feet in the water, and savor the moment as you reach the edge of the world.

This stage captures the essence of cycling in the Camargue: flat roads, infinite skies, and a changing light that dances over the water. You’ll leave the sea behind and pedal deeper into the Rhône delta, between rice paddies, canals, and shady bike paths.
One of the day’s highlights is crossing the Rhône River on a small local ferry (ticket not included). It is a simple, authentic experience that makes this Provence cycling route so unique.
You’ll arrive in Saint-Gilles. It is a peaceful Romanesque town whose abbey church, a UNESCO World Heritage site, shelters a remarkable crypt. The evening is filled with that distinctive Provençal warmth, soft light, gentle air, and a sense of serenity.

Today, the scenery changes as you trade the flatlands of the Camargue for the gentle hills of Provence’s countryside. The roads wind through vineyards, peach orchards, and honey-colored villages, with the legendary Mont Ventoux visible in the distance.
The grand finale of the day is the Pont du Gard, a majestic Roman aqueduct standing for over 2,000 years. Park your bike, explore the site, and take a moment by the river to appreciate its beauty and ingenuity. Your hotel nearby offers a relaxing evening after a day of unforgettable cycling.

Today’s loop is all about slow travel by bike, quiet country roads shaded by oaks, fig trees, and wild lavender. Your destination is Uzès, a true gem of southern France. Park your bike and wander through the Place aux Herbes, browse the Provençal market, visit the Saint-Théodorit Cathedral, or simply enjoy a coffee under the plane trees.
On the way back, follow a gentle descent toward the Gardon River, where a refreshing swim awaits, a small, timeless joy every cycling traveler understands.

For your final day on the bike, you’ll cycle through the fragrant garrigue with landscapes dotted with thyme, rosemary, and sunlit stone.
Stop in Tavel, birthplace of the famous rosé wine, for a tasting or a friendly chat with a local winemaker. The last stretch follows the Rhône and Durance Rivers back to Avignon, where your Provence cycling adventure comes full circle.

After breakfast, your bike tour in Provence comes to an end. You may choose to extend your stay and explore more gems of the region such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes, or Roussillon, each offering another taste of Provence’s magic.
